Aztec Halloween
July 27, 2006 | New Designs | No Comments
An unlikely combination, but those are the themes of the 3 latest liliputians NYC designs.

Added to the boutique late last night was another new dress from the FALL 06 Collection. The AZTEC PINK & BROWN Dress is a lush micro-suede tunic style dress with an Aztec motif design in pink, brown and turquoise. Velvet trim decorates the notched neckline & sleeves. Carved wood beads give it even more style.

Halloween has also arrived in liliput with the HALLOWEEN CAT & FULL MOON pants set. Fun pants and an appliqued shirt with a black cat and full moon motif set the mood of the festive outfit. The HALLOWEEN FACES pants set is frighteningly cute with it’s scary perfect details and appliqued tee.
Platinum Baby

Select liliputians designs are now available at the super hip Japanese boutique Blanche Boutique Platinum Baby.

Blanche Boutique Platinum Baby sells baby and kid’s clothes and accessories. Their upscale, e-shop is part of Rakuten, the biggest online shopping destination for Japanese shoppers.

Owner Noriko Yamamoto really has her finger on the pulse of children’s fashions. I love her shop and am thrilled that the liliputians label is now readily available to Japanese mammas looking to give their babies the hook up.
All ABOUT How to Dress Her Like a Boutique Princess
July 22, 2006 | Buzz, Sites to Visit | No Comments
For those that want to dress their little girl to the nines so she’s a Boutique Princess, writer Michelle Kouzine has made it easy.

Her kids fashion article on about.com has all the answers. She tells you what to buy, how to accessorize, what brands are a MUST, and where to shop both in person and online.
Guess what boutique was mentioned in her elite list? You guessed it! Liliputians was described as “a little online boutique that features big style. The NYC based shop brings high fashion to kiddies all across America.”
Oddity of the week
July 21, 2006 | Buzz, Sites to Visit | No Comments
The liliputians NYC dolly barrettes are the featured oddity of the week on the funky & fun web site Chateau Bizarre.

I agree with their comment that, “These sweet little clips are made for little girls, but why let them have all the fun? These teeny girlies would look great topping off a gothic lolita ensemble or parked in a pair of dreadfalls.”
Why should just the little girls have all the fun? I personally like to wear my grasshopper barrettes.

But then maybe I’m the oddity of the week!
Copying is not nice. . .
July 20, 2006 | Daily News | No Comments
Copying is not nice and in some cases it’s illegal.
I just had the sad misfortune to learn that some of the liliputians web site copyrighted images were being used without my knowledge or consent. The theft of an image in this manner in not only illegal and unethical, it also enters the arena of pirating intellectual property – liliputians designs.
Liliputians clothing is pretty easy to spot; styling that appears simple at first glance but a longer look reveals perfect and abundant details, clothes that are made from unusual fabric combinations of hard-to-find, vintage or out-of-print fabrics, and quality that is superior to that of mass produced, factory-made items.
My heart and soul goes into each design. So it breaks my heart to know that people are stealing that.
Tourists for the weekend
July 19, 2006 | Out & About | No Comments
How come someone has to come visit for me to take advantage of all the offerings here in NYC? I guess sewing, designing, web upkeep, and chores always seem to take precedence until we have a houseguest. Then playing and seeing the sights become priority.
So Lily and I were tourists for the weekend with our fun time (wearing only liliputians NYC fashions of course). We went for a ferry ride and then a long walk on the boardwalk on Staten Island.

We ate lunch at Planet Thailand, my favorite restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and the place to go for the best Thai food in NYC. Summer in the city also means a requisite trip to Coney Island.

Boy it was hot! Lily had to cool off in the water fountains at Rockefeller Playground in Battery Park, hands down the best playground in the city. What a fun time. . .
Lucky Sevens
July 16, 2006 | Buzz, Sites to Visit | No Comments
Liliputians NYC is currently one of the LUCKY 7 (sharing the spotlight with tiny houses, fairy bubbles, pvc clothing, historical wedding fashions, zombie cartoon clothing, and handbags of used tractor tires) on Chateau Bizarre, a site that aims to bring attention to smaller merchants and independent designers, the latest fashion finds, and exotic amusements.

I really like this fun and quirky site with its oddities and their loathing of “big-box stores and strip malls that are drowning every city in the same old corporate logos, giving incredibly diverse places a depressing, ugly sameness.” The site’s creators, writer Lilah Wild and artist/programmer Stray Tenebrae, feel that, “Talent can surface in the most surprising places, and it’s not always in the established design houses. Our portal ranges from established high-end fetish labels to teenage enterprises kicking out backpacks in an attic studio. All are welcome.”
What’s your sign?

It’s the age of aquarius at liliputians NYC with our groovy new appliqued shirt collection. This fun series features the 12 zodiac signs as detailed, retro-styled appliques that are sewn onto black tees with fancy decorative stitching.

And there are so many choices. Choose your sign, a tee with long or short sleeves, and whether you want a shirt for little one, mommy, daddy, or everyone!
Fall Into Fall . . . In Style
July 13, 2006 | New Designs | No Comments
The first of the liliputians Fall 06 designs are here! And there are more to come, with 3-5 new additions every week for the months of July and August. In addition to styles for everyday, there will be special outfits for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
So what are the new additions so far?
The Hot Pink and Leopard Shirred Dress is our first fun dress for fall. Made from a super soft, suede-like fabric, it will feel as good to wear as it looks!

The Bejeweled Boho Paisley Tunic Dress is our next fall fashion. Simple and chic styling contrasts with the colorful paisley design accented with glittering aurora borealis Swarovksi crystals on the front.
So come fall into fall . . . in style. . . with liliputians!
A Much Needed Facelift

The Press page has not only gotten an update with 2 new articles, but it’s also received a much needed facelift.
The Frida Kahlo inspired sets were featured on the Artistic Sensations blog and the Birthday Celebration outfit was also mentioned on The Daily Stroll. Check them out – there’s an accompanying discount code on one for liliputians NYC purchases.
