We’d like to introduce the newest liliputians retailer, Baby and Me Couture.
Baby and Me Couture is an online boutique with lots of unique offerings. Jessica, the shop’s owner, has found all sorts of stylish and fun finds for little ones and their mommies. In addition to selling some exclusive liliputians designs (the French Cafe Girls Dress Set is only available through Baby and Me Couture), they also have some great gift items like the selection of baby music (think Nirvana, Coldplay, U2, Led Zeppelin and more transformed into lullabye music).
Mars or bust! That is the sentiment of the newest liliputians design for boys. This fun outfit, Space Rocket Dog to Mars, is bound to make your little guy (and his admirers) smile.
The appliqued shirt has a unique, hand drawn, and layered applique on the front. Space dog waves “hello” from the port hole of his rocket ship bound for Mars. It’s full throttle with the exhaust flames trailing down the shirt.
The contrast cuff pants are a comfy relaxed fit and made from the cosmic and whimsical space dog fabric. A multi-colored star print on steel blue for a contrasting cuff gives them added style.
Another serving of yummy birthday fashions have been served up in the liliputians boutique. The polka dot cupcake skirt set has been so well received that we decided to bake up some more pink and brown confections.
The new dessert of an outfit has a number shirt complete with the same number of fancy little petit four cakes appliqued on the front. Matching striped pink and brown pants have a contrast cuff with side slit made from the little cakes fabric. They are available in capri or full length styles.

If you haven’t noticed, we have a thing for kitsch here at liliputians. Some of our favorite inspirations are Americana such as vintage fruit crate labels from the 30’s through the 50’s; old Route 66 ephemera, pulp fiction cover art and advertising from that era; garden gnomes as well the the kissing Dutch boy and girl lawn ornaments; pastel Lu-Ray dishes, McCoy and Shawnee cookie jars and salt and pepper shakers that would have been found inside the houses with the great garden decor; and ornate folkloric art that borders on kitsch. These are just a few of our favorite things.
So, it should be no surprise that liliputians has introduced some more pin-up girl inspired designs. This time the fashions are for little girls (check out the pin-up girl decoupaged denim for ladies).
Retro pin-up bathing beauties and tropical flowers come together on a vibrant blue fabric for a fun outfit with a taste of kitsch. It consists of a pair of ruffled pants (available in full length or as capris). The coordinating shirt has a simple yet very funky applique of a bright red hibiscus with a pin-up pistil for a unique and beautiful blossom.
I recently discovered a parenting magazine with intelligent and witty writing that I actually relate to. Brain Child touts itself as the magazine for thinking mothers and it really is a breath of fresh air. And if you’ve never read Brain Child, I highly recommend picking up a copy.
