Liliputians NYC would like to wish a very Happy First Birthday to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie Pitt. Where ever her first birthday celebration is held, it’s sure to be a special one and we look forward to the inevitable pictures that will make their way to the press (or maybe not if they’re able to out fox them).
Being big fans of both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (how can one not be taken with such class, talent, loving parents & giving humanitarians?), liliputians jumped at the chance to send one-year old Shiloh a birthday gift (arranged by 32Flavors PR). That was an easy decision, deciding what to send was not!
We ended up sending baby Jolie-Pitt a birthday outfit (the Birthday Cakes and Polka Dots Capri Set), our colorful and unique Folklore Fiesta outfit, and the Frida Kahlo Inspired Outfit with its funky palazzo pants and Te Amo Mucho flaming heart appliqued shirt in stylish black.
Here’s some pictures of some of the goodies that Shiloh received for her big day. Happy Birthday gorgeous little one!
Instead of where’s Waldo, how about a fun game of find the kitschy garden gnomes in your newest issue of BUST magazine?

Yep. The fun liliputians gnome shirts for women and little ones are somewhere within the glossy pages of my favorite magazine BUST. Here’s a sneak peek if you’re the impatient type.
Kitschy garden gnome shirts by liliputians NYC are no longer just for little ones. Big girls can sport a fun appliqued shirt with one of these friendly little guys.
Made to order, you will pick your gnome, sleeve length, and shirt color. Women’s gnome shirts are available in black long or short sleeves. And the shirts for boys and girls are available in long or short sleeves and in your choice of colors; white, black, pink, light blue, lavender, or chocolate brown.
What about the gnomes? Well for those who like to fish, there is Gnome Fishing. Then there’s the hardworking guy, Gnome with a Wheelbarrow of Flowers. Gnome Swinging is a little more relaxed as he sits on his swing. Then their is the kitschiest of the gnomes, Gnome with Bunny Rabbit and Polka Dot Mushroom (please excuse his political incorrectness with his pipe please). And last but not least is the simple little guy, Gnome Crawling. Have fun deciding!
The smaller set can now look as cute as the big kids since liliputians has started offering our funky appliqued designs on bodysuits (or one-pieces or onesies as some like to call them) all the way down to size 0-3 months. The designs (for girls and boys too) are Animé Girl with bling on pink, Lotus Blossom on black, Retro Robot on blue, Flaming Dice on black, Frilly Blossom on blue, and Groovy Peace Sign on pink.

The first batch went straight to one of our retailers, Candy Plum, in Astoria. We will be adding them to the liliputians boutique straight away though. Just a short wait . . . or you can always purchase one from Candy Plum for now if you’re the impatient type!
The Silly Wagon is a new web site (their virtual doors open June 1st!) and the newest liliputians retailer. I know that many of us in internet land are anxiously awaiting their grand opening.
The owners of The Silly Wagon, Whitney and Vered, really have an eye for designs you won’t be able to resist. Their boutique will not only sell the big, exclusive Euro brands that you know and love (like Oilily), but also hard-to-find, handmade designs from indie designers (like liliputians). They will also carry the most exquisite handpainted children’s furniture, jewelry, toys, unique gift ideas, and even things for mom.
Even though The Silly Wagon is not open yet, you can visit the site and see a slide show of a few of the yummy offerings. There’s another great reason to visit. Sign up for the newsletter to get exclusive offers (like $10 off your purchase of $50 or more). You can also read The Silly Wagon Blog. Check it out for a fun interview with yours truly, a silly wagon extraordinaire!
Who would have thunk that there would be such a great support community online for indie designers? I have been lucky enough to “meet” several other indie designers (many are wahm like me) and consider many of them my friends despite the fact that we may live several states away from one another and have never met. I would like to thank a couple of these fantastic design divas and tell you a little about them and their businesses.
Thanks Bari J for your support & business! I’m so flattered with the mention on your blog. Bari J makes the most amazing bags, unique French ribbon brooches, gorgeous quilted fabric belts, and cute cell phone covers. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the fabric combos are an artful mix, and the vintage inspired styling is superb!
Thanks to Merle of OlovesM! I just received an email from Liz of Wickedly Chic that Merle is their Reader of the Week. In her write up she mentions several indie sites and has great things to say about liliputians. Thanks Merle! We love your durable yet stylish, earth friendly bags too (and apparently a lot of celebs love them also - wow!).
And a belated thank you to Deborah of Baby Starlet for the mention in her Indie Entreprenuer interview. I’m beyond flattered to be considered as one of your inspirations. We are inspired by Baby Starlet’s lush and exquisite Moses baskets (check out the Ava collection!).
We’ve added a Babies category to the liliputians boutique! Up to now, there were no outfits that were specifically designed just for babies. Most liliputians designs are offered in sizes 6m to 6, with some designs being offered only down to a size 12m or all the way up to a size 8. Now there are sets designed specifically for infants all the way down to 0-3 months and up to a size 18-24 months.
Although there is only one summer outfit, Pink & Blue Ruffly Dots Bodysuit Dress, in the Babies category for now, expect lots of babylicious designs for fall and winter.
The newest liliputians design, Aqua Blue Paisley and Stripes, is a little groovy and a little girly for the best of both worlds.
This vibrant aqua blue, teal, purple and chartreuse outfit is made from a wavy striped fabric and a funky paisley print. There are lots of details. From the summer top’s tiered ruffles and ruffled spaghetti straps to the unique hand crafted applique on the capri pants.
There are more fresh baked fashions served up in the liliputians boutique. Yummy! We’d like to also introduce Mia, the newest liliputians model who brings some personality to the designs.

So what’s on the menu . . . how about a cupcake dress in pink and brown? It has tons of details - an empire waist accented by pink and brown polka dot ribbon and a ruffled neckline and sleeves with chocolate brown ric-rac detailing. Also served up is a colorful birthday outfit of bright stripes, presents, and more cupcakes in hot pink, turquoise, lime and lemony yellow! This vibrant set has a fun appliqued number shirt and a coordinating two-tiered ruffled skirt.
So save some room for dessert!
