Lily’s 3rd Birthday in her Birthday Balloons Outfit

Filed under: Daily News, Out & About — liliputi @ 1:16 pm

We celebrated Lily’s 3rd birthday this Saturday. It was the perfect weekend and the perfect day.

She awoke stating “it’s party time” and it really was. She got dressed in her special birthday outfit. Of all the liliputians birthday designs, she chose the colorful Retro Birthday Balloons and Polka Dots skirt set.

Then presents were prompty opened with the biggest surprise in the back yard - her new clubhouse (which is actually kind of cute for it being a plastic –yuck!– house). It was a gorgeous day spent outside watching Lily have fun on her special day and having our first bbq of the summer. What a great day. . . Oh, to be “3″ again!

Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend

Filed under: Daily News, Shopping — liliputi @ 11:56 am

So goes the saying and we’re in agreement here at liliputians NYC. For those who also like some sparkle and bling, you can now find some gorgeous jewels in our boutique.

We searched high and low to find handcrafted, timeless yet trendy, heirloom quality jewelry for little ones. Not only did we want to be able to offer items for little girls, but we also wanted to be able to offer coordinating pieces for women. Now both little and big girls can find accessories to flatter their liliputians clothing!

Made by award winning, jewelry designer Mary Ann Springer of Pink Papillon, her designs are truly perfection. We own several of her pieces and have been impressed with their craftsmanship, durability, and most of all their gorgeous appearance.

Check out the line of sterling silver handstamped bracelets and necklaces that are personalized and custom made to order for both mommy and little girl. And her collection of pearl bracelets and necklaces are bound to become a treasured keepsake. There are birthstone and birthday bracelets which make a great gift and can be worn well beyond the big day. We just loved the silver knot bracelet, so simple and sweet. And last but not least, there is the fun cherry fringe bracelet. Yummy!

Birthday Cakes Outfit is What’s Hot for Tots!

Filed under: Sites to Visit, Buzz — liliputi @ 9:03 am

There are lots of sites that review children’s and parenting products, but What’s Hot for Tots is one of the best. They seem to really have fun finding unique offerings and searching out mompreneur products. Plus I’m tickled that their reviewer is as big of fan of Gulliver’s Travels as I.

Liliputians and our Birthday Cakes and Stripes in Pink and Brown set is the focus of their featured review for May 8th. Here’s a sneak peek of the article. Click the link to see it in full scale or visit the liliputians Press page to read more of our reviews.

What a ride!

Filed under: Out & About — liliputi @ 8:37 am

The liliputians blog generally highlights new clothing designs in the liliputians boutique, news regarding liliputians retailers, great photos from our happy customers, and press that we’ve recently received. Occasionally it will focus on unrelated news. This is one of those occasions.

5 boro bike ride 5 boro bike ride

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of the 5 Boro Bike Ride and I was a first-time participant. It was amazing! Even though I felt like I stood with my bike (an hour wait at the starting line, a 20 minute wait right before Central Park, random waits at intersections, and even a 20 minute wait to leave the festival at the end) as much as I rode, I was so glad I was able to participate. Riding through NYC, seeing all the neighborhoods up close, crossing bridges and riding on the BQE without traffic on my bicycle was just an incredibly awesome experience.

The 42-mile ride started in downtown (with more than 30,000 cyclists) Manhattan, went north through the heart of Manhattan to Central Park, through Harlem and the Bronx, returned south along the East River on the FDR Drive, into Queens and then Brooklyn and finished with a ride across the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge into Staten Island.

I did the ride this year by myself (and was in awe of the mother that crossed the Verrazano bridge at the same pace as me pulling a trailer with a little one behind her bike - supermom!), but look forward to riding with my husband and daughter next year when she’ll be big enough to use a trail-a-bike, turning my bike into a tandem. Until then, I’ve already scoped out our next rides, the Harlem Valley Rail Ride in July and the Twin Lights Ride along the Jersey shore in September.
