Two fun new designs have been added to the liliputians boutique . . . and they’re just for boys!
First is a sporty design for your little baseball player. Baseball Birthday Number is an appliqué shirt with your little one’s birthday number and the same number of baseball players. Add some baseball print fabric and red baseball-esque stitching and it’s a home run! And there are even matching pants . . .
Next is a fun design for your little jungle animal lover. Birthday Jungle Animals is another appliqué shirt with your little one’s birthday number (in smaller scale) on top of the same number of stacked jungle animals. Lions and tigers and zebras oh my! Oh, and don’t forget the matching pants.
As most of you are probably aware, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) goes into affect tomorrow, February 10th. If unfamiliar with this new law, in a nutshell, it requires both domestic manufacturers and importers to certify that ALL children’s products (toys, clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories, sports equipment, books, bicycles, etc.) made and sold after February 10, 2009 meet new requirements for lead and phthalates.
The exact guidelines for CPSIA testing requirements are still under review. Currently the CPSC (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission) is considering exemptions of inherently lead free materials such as synthetic and natural textiles, threads and ribbons (among other materials). Component based testing (allowing manufacturers to use the test results from their vendors) is also under consideration. Hopefully these details will be decided in a fashion that allows small US-based manufacturers such as liliputians to comply without putting us out of business.
Since the law goes into affect without definitive answers to testing requirements (and with the limited relief of a one-year stay of enforcement) but very clearly states the new required lead level (under 600 ppm), liliputians has been proactive and XRF tested our entire line. The liliputians line of children’s clothing is safe and has always been safe. Now scientific data supports that claim.
ALL liliputians clothing and barrettes are in full compliance with CPSIA. General Certificates of Conformity will be issued to retailers upon request.

Valentine’s Day is almost upon us. If your little one is still in need of a special outfit to impress Cupid, you’re in luck! There is still plenty of time to get a liliputians outfit or shirt for Valentine’s Day.What to wear? How about an outfit inspired by that classic candy, Conversation Hearts. An applique heart made up of individually appliqued hearts decorates a sweet pink tee. The matching ruffled skirt has some polka dots and heart motif ribbon for added style.
And the Queen of Hearts shirt is awesome dressed down or paired with a flouncy, flirty pettiskirt in sweet pink, red & white, raspberry or red & pink. Yowza!
