Liliputians has gotten some nice press of late and we’re reveling in the buzz. The Staten Island Advance (a daily newspaper in the borough of Staten Island with a circulation of approximately 75,000) had a feature in their North Shore edition highlighting our children’s boutique clothing online-business. A picture of yours truly accompanied the article as well as an image of the liliputians anime skirt outfit graced the cover of the paper.

Liliputians has been shown some love this June by two fabulous web sites. Both focused on liliputians birthday outfits, which is fitting considering that June seems to be a very popular birthday month.

The Mama Log is the brain child of mother and writer Tracey French. Always on the look out for unique, handmade goodies from WAHM companies and mamasigners, Tracey was particularly smitten with our birthday outfits so her little girl celebrated her first birthday this month in a liliputians birthday outfit. We hope it was a BIG celebration!

Peekaboo Picks is an online magazine touting itself as finding fabulous finds for hip moms. Started in early 2007 by a mother and writer, Megan Thomas, the magazine is always discovering cool goods for the kiddies. They discovered liliputians birthday outfits and birthday shirts didn’t they?!?
Liliputians made it’s first magazine cover with our Birthday Cupcake Dress in Pink and Brown thanks to liliputians Japanese retailer Babinese.

And inside, the adorable little model is also wearing the liliputians Tiny Hearts & Dots in Pink & Red Reversible Skirt.
There was a great surprise in my inbox this morning. I received an email that my Indie Designer Interview (that I had completed some time ago for blogger/writer/designer Mallory Whitfield) was posted on the Styledash web site today. I am really thrilled to be included on this site and in this ongoing series. I too find it so interesting to see what makes other creative types tick.
We were extra happy to see the mailman yesterday since he delivered the long awaited issue of BABY & CHILDREN’S PRODUCT NEWS. The February/March issue of this magazine for the children’s products industry and trade had a very nice write up about liliputians NYC, focusing on our birthday outfits (particularly the Retro Birthday Party Skirt Set photographed so perfectly by Amanda Elkins Photography).
Liliputians has had another time out! We’ve been mentioned in Time Out New York Kids magazine again!!!!!!!

I discovered this pleasant surprise last night while soaking in the tub, perusing my various magazines subscriptions. Time Out New York Kids is one of my favorite periodicals for finding places to go, new boutiques to shop at, fun events for the family, and just learning more about this fabulous city where I’m lucky enough to live.
In April’s issue, there is an article entitled Spree For All, which interviews Joanna Dreifus, a fellow New York mom (and art historian like me) who blogs. As I get into the article, I’m like “I know her!” Ok. Well I don’t “know” her, but I recognize her name, her blog’s name, mymomshops.blogspot.com, and she is also a liliputians customer. Even further into the article I’m delighted to see liliputians mentioned.
From the article . . . “Dreifus typically writes about products she’s personally stumbled on; most are small companies and websites that parents might not otherwise know about. Her favorites include New York City indie designer Liliputians (’I purchased both of my children’s birthday outfits there.’)”
The latest issue of Earnshaw’s magazine showed up in today’s mail and they saved the best for last! The last page that is. Dedicated to a feature called I SPY, the last page is an ever changing collection of clothes, accessories and shoes with a common theme. The March I SPY feature was all about the primary hue red and aptly called SEEING RED. Included among the vibrantly colored clothing were a fun pair of red pants by liliputians.

Although intended for the liliputians Fall 08 collection, I’ve decided to go ahead and add both the Gilded Red Kiku Flower Faux Wrap Pants along with the coordinating, fully-lined Geisha Girls Kimono Wrap Jacket to the liliputians boutique. I hate waiting and the Earnshaw’s inclusion was all the encouragement I needed to offer this fun set now. It is perfect for not only autumn but for spring as well.
We just wanted to say congrats again to liliputians retailer Lass & Laddie. This charming boutique is located in historic Kirkwood, Missouri and was recently included on Show Me St Louis, a feature on Channel 5 KSDK. If you watch the video, the liliputians Retro Birthday Party Pants are shown right at the end.
Lass & Laddie not only carries a fun selection of clothes by liliputians, but a huge selection of other unique, handmade goods. The store is cute, colorful and really just a feast for the eyes. If you’re in the St Louis area, I highly recommend stopping by for a fun shopping experience.
Planning a child’s birthday party is a lot of fun, but also a lot of work! So I’m always looking for ways to simplify. MyKidsRegistry.com will help you organize and save time. I recently discovered this web site when its founder, Yvette Segal, featured liliputians birthday outfits. I was thrilled with the write-up (shown below) and just really impressed with the concept. What a great idea!

My Kids Registry helps parents or guardians plan and register their child’s birthday, holiday or special occasion. It’s like a wedding registry for the birthday boy or girl and so much more. Services are “online gift registries/wish lists, online scrap booking, online R.S.V.P., online invitations, local vendor partnerships, advice /ideas, and charities in lieu of giving a gift.” It’s literally a one-stop shop and will save you numerous phone calls, trips to the post office and more.
Liliputians is a Boutique Success! I guess we must be (blushing) if we were asked to do an interview for the blog with that name. Thank you again Natalie for inviting liliputians to Boutique Success.
