Monday was Lily’s birthday. She is now 4 years old and according to her is all grown up and can do everything herself. The birthday party over the weekend was as perfect as was her special day. She chose the party venue (an indoor carnival, theme park type place), the flavors of the cupcakes she took to school yesterday (strawberry with chocolate frosting and chocolate with strawberry frosting - both with lots of sprinkles) and even helped design her 2 special new birthday outfits by helping choose the fabrics, trims and styles.
To her birthday party, Lily wore her special liliputians birthday outfit, Cupcake Dots & Ice Cream Ruffles (she dictated the pink and brown color combo and requested ruffles), a pair of matching birthday barrettes (something no birthday girl should be without), her new necklace (just like mamas) and a BIG smile. Lily had the time of her life (as did her daddy and I watching her). There were bumper cars, a ball pit, a roller coaster and other kiddie rides, an arcade with generous tickets being spit from the games, and 12 of her classmates and friends from school and dance class. She’s right . . . it was the best day ever!
Lily wore another special new outfit, Birthday Cakes & Princess Stripes, to school on her birthday on Monday. In keeping with the princess theme, she even had a special Pink Cupcake Crown (made exclusively for liliputians by Cakies). She had liked the pants set from the princessy fabric and requested a skirt made from it. I was glad to accommodate as well as accompany the birthday girl to class with my trusty cupcake carrier filled to the brim with freshly baked treats. My only regret is having baked too many cupcakes so many were left over at home to taunt me and test my willpower!

Yummy yummy in our pretend tummies. Handcrafted play food from Child’s Play Crochet is here and being served up in the liliputians boutique. Handmade in the USA (by a talented Mama/artist in green Vermont to be exact), these unique designs are whimsical, realistic, durable, washable and just plain FUN! This realistic crocheted food makes for great play time, a welcome addition to any preschool and kindergarten classrooms, unique party favors, birthday gifts, room decor or just something fun because it’s Tuesday!
So what’s on the menu? There’s something for all little appetites from a healthy lunch of a pbj sandwich and strawberries, a crunchy snack of crudité to a splurge of a cheeseburger with French fries or a fun pizza in your choice of toppings. Our favorite is the bacon and eggs.
And of course, everyone wants to save room for those yummy desserts like chocolate chip or sugar cookies, chocolate dipped strawberries, muffins (in chocolate chip, blueberry or cranberry flavors), and mini and jumbo cupcakes complete with sprinkles (choose from chocolate or vanilla cakes with chocolate, vanilla or strawberry frosting). The cupcakes can be purchased individually or even as a set of 6 complete with mini muffin tin. Mmmmmmm . . . deliciously perfect goodness that’s hard to just stop at one. But go ahead, because these sweet treats are calorie free!
Starlooks Boutique is a newish mom-and-pop-run online store (with personal mom-and-pop customer service too) that offers a fun mix of clothing, toys, jewelry, unique gifts, and other cool finds for parents. One such example is Rock Star Baby’s line of organic beauty products (for baby and big people too) that contain no harmful parabens, laureth sulfates, phthalates/fragrance, chemicals/propylene glycol, or dyes that are usually found in most baby products - just natural ingredients. Starlooks focuses on Made in America products with some great classics such as Holgate wooden toys. My favorite is the Mr. Roger’s Trolley . . . almost wants to make me break out in song “Won’t you be my neighbor!”
Starlooks is also the newest retailer of liliputians birthday outfits and everyday-wear clothing for girls and boys. The owners of Starlooks have a great eye for unique kids apparel and goods (I mean, they DO offer liliputians, right?!?). They are parents to FIVE kids so they have truly become experts in this area! Although the Starlooks Boutique is already up and running with items being added daily, a BIG grand opening is in the works. Check back & we’ll keep you posted.

Shelly Assody is a renowned jewelry designer is Israel and is becoming increasingly well known around the world (that is among celebrities and women “in the know”). Her designs are made from high quality silver and are fine pieces of jewelry that can be worn every day.
Liliputians is thrilled to be the newest retailer of Shelly’s custom designs. After receiving one of her bracelets as a gift from dear friends, I was hooked. I’ve since had to buy myself a necklace to match as well as one for my daughter so she can be like Mama.
The quality of the piece is immediately apparent as all jump rings, clasps and other tiny pieces are securely soldered (something that isn’t the case with most necklaces as my jewelry box of broken chains will attest to). Then there are the hand-molded and hand-cast charms that are integrated into the chain itself. These charms are so detailed with all their stamping and engraving. They can even be personalized, such as my necklace which has a girl charm engraved with my daughter Lily’s name. Add several of the boys and girls for an amazing gift for Grandma.
Shelly Assody jewelry is the ultimate gift for Mother’s Day . . . or a just-because gift. But I warn you, you may have a problem buying just one piece. Wait until you get it and you’ll see what I mean. Her creations are truly wearable works of art. I know I’m now coveting the antiqued signet ring!

Easter has always been a favorite holiday of mine. What’s better than daffodils, hyacinths and crocus flowers blooming, the contagious excitement of finding the hidden eggs (especially the golden prize eggs!), the fancy dresses that say “hello spring”, chocolate rabbits and other sweets, and the family gathering filled with good company and food?!?
So enjoy and I just wanted to share two Easter themed photos. One is a pair of Ribbon Bunny Barrettes that were just added to the liliputians boutique (I liked them so much that I put a pair in my daughter’s Easter basket). The other is a silly Peep Show photo of “Easter candy gone bad” emailed to me from my mom. It put a smile on my face so I thought I’d share.
