Another Happy Birthday Girl!

Filed under: Shopping, New Designs, Happy Little People — liliputi @ 9:14 pm

We LOVE birthdays here at liliputians, although this statement should be pretty obvious with our line of birthday outfits for girls & boys, birthday dresses, girls & boys birthday shirts, birthday barrettes, birthday invitations (yes, we now carry Monkey Tails most amazing birthday invitations and thank you cards made to match some popular liliputians designs) and even birthday jewelry and birthday party favors and gifts (like the fun play food cupcakes & other goodies by Child’s Play Crochet and cupcake purses by Patti Burgess).

But I digress, what we LOVE the most here at liliputians is happy birthday boys and girls in their special liliputians designs. Our week was brightened by a 3-year old birthday girl who looked so cute on her big day. We hope it was a VERY happy occasion! :-)

Starlooks Boutique Is the Newest Star

Filed under: Daily News, Sites to Visit, Shopping — liliputi @ 12:41 pm

Starlooks Boutique is a newish mom-and-pop-run online store (with personal mom-and-pop customer service too) that offers a fun mix of clothing, toys, jewelry, unique gifts, and other cool finds for parents. One such example is Rock Star Baby’s line of organic beauty products (for baby and big people too) that contain no harmful parabens, laureth sulfates, phthalates/fragrance, chemicals/propylene glycol, or dyes that are usually found in most baby products - just natural ingredients. Starlooks focuses on Made in America products with some great classics such as Holgate wooden toys. My favorite is the Mr. Roger’s Trolley . . . almost wants to make me break out in song “Won’t you be my neighbor!”

Starlooks is also the newest retailer of liliputians birthday outfits and everyday-wear clothing for girls and boys. The owners of Starlooks have a great eye for unique kids apparel and goods (I mean, they DO offer liliputians, right?!?). They are parents to FIVE kids so they have truly become experts in this area! Although the Starlooks Boutique is already up and running with items being added daily, a BIG grand opening is in the works. Check back & we’ll keep you posted.

liliputians retailer LASS & LADDIE in the News!

Filed under: Shopping, Buzz — liliputi @ 1:27 pm

We just wanted to say congrats again to liliputians retailer Lass & Laddie. This charming boutique is located in historic Kirkwood, Missouri and was recently included on Show Me St Louis, a feature on Channel 5 KSDK. If you watch the video, the liliputians Retro Birthday Party Pants are shown right at the end.
Lass & Laddie not only carries a fun selection of clothes by liliputians, but a huge selection of other unique, handmade goods. The store is cute, colorful and really just a feast for the eyes. If you’re in the St Louis area, I highly recommend stopping by for a fun shopping experience.

Cupcake Purses & Cupcake Totes Have Arrived!

Filed under: Shopping, New Designs — liliputi @ 1:26 pm

More scrumptiously cute, fresh-baked fashions have been cooked up in the liliputians kitchen! Our boutique is brimming with cupcake clothing designs and cupcake barrettes so we figured we HAD to offer some cupcake bags to complete the mix.

The new liliputians cupcake bags are perfect for little AND big girls. I know that I have already broken in my BAKE CUPCAKES NOT WAR shopper tote bag with my daily trips to the post office, grocery store and other assorted non-stop, mom-type chauffering and errand running. Lily has all her “treasures” safely stored inside her hand crocheted, strawberry pink and chocolate brown cupcake purse and MUST bring it along on all of our daily adventures. So we can vouch for both of these fabulous bags. We love them and know you will too!

All ABOUT Spring Fashions for Girls & the Boutique Princess Look

Filed under: Shopping, Buzz — liliputi @ 10:07 am

Michelle Kouzmine, children’s fashion authority and author of the Kids Fashion segment on about.com, has just written a great article about what’s hot for girls this spring. She describes the many possible looks for your little fashionista, popular brands for each look and where to shop for them.

We were delighted to discover an image of the liliputians Cowgirls and Indians skirt set depicting the Boutique Princess Look as well as listing liliputians as one of the best places for pulling together a unique outfit for this look.

So just what is the boutique princess look? Michelle describes it as, “The Boutique Princess Look is for the girl who has tons of personality and loves to look all dolled up. This look is all about coordinated outfits. The Boutique Princess’s top perfectly coordinates with her skirts, tights, hair bows, shoes and whatever else she can find. Look for outfits with pizazz such as embroidery, sequins, crystals, fun patterns and anything else that makes her outfit extra special. Accessories need to perfectly coordinate with each individual outfit. Accessories are key to achieving this look.”

We agree and just had to comment that liliputians has jewelry, barrettes, hair flowers, shoes and even purses to perfectly complete your Boutique Princess ensemble.

The yummy cupcake-obsessed blog, All Things Cupcake, has served up some more appreciation for one of liliputians cupcake inspired designs. This time our Lil’ Cupcake Dress is in the cupcakecentric spotlight. We love cupcakes and love to see what kind of other cupcake creations these blogging mamas find. Thanks for the calorie free goodness! :-)

Will you be my vintage valentine?

Filed under: Sites to Visit, Shopping, New Designs — liliputi @ 1:28 pm

I’ve said it before, but I love anything retro, kitschy, or vintage. It’s probably pretty apparent with in many of the liliputians designs and doesn’t really need to be said. Kinda stating the obvious.

valentine shirt

Well you know I was in love when I found these classic valentine cards and stickers (on the coolest web site, All-Pop, with all sorts of other kitschy goodies) for my daughter to exchange at school. Vintage valentines like those were the inspiration for several new Valentine’s Day designs; the vintage valentines shirt, skirt set and pants outfit.

A Time Out For liliputians NYC

Filed under: Sites to Visit, Shopping, Buzz — liliputi @ 3:34 pm

We need a time out. Not a reprimand for bad behavior, but a copy of the authoritative magazine on what to do, where to go, & when to do it. The magazine is Time Out New York or course!

The awesome liliputians retailer, Candy Plum, in rockin’ Astoria got noticed (again!) by the fashion editors at Time Out. They got a nice paragraph of a write-up that called out liliputians’ “cheery children’s clothing” among all the cool, indie brands that Candy Plum carries. Sweet!

A Spectacular BUST Craftacular!

Filed under: Sites to Visit, Shopping, Out & About — liliputi @ 11:28 am

Yesterday was BUST magazine’s annual Craftacular and it really was spectacular! For those not familiar with the event, BUST Magazine hand picked over 200 of the most unique and talented crafters from across the country to sell the best in handmade gifts and wares.

This year’s event was moved to a much larger venue in Manhattan (at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea) and gave shoppers a little more elbow room. Amy Sedaris was there signing her tongue in cheek cookbook, a dj was spinning some good tunes, and there was tasty food and refreshments as well.

This was my 2nd time attending and like last year, it really made me want to apply so liliputians NYC could be part of the event. I just don’t know it’s a realistic endeavor for December though with the holiday rush. We’ll see . . .

I did buy some really fun things though. Here’s what I brought home with me - the Veggies shirt from Squidfire (for my hubby), the Henry and Gertrude Criminal Lovers shirt from Jezebel (for me), a gnome doll from Sarah Apple (for one of my friends), a snowflake cookie from The Lower Eastside Girls Club Bake Shop (because it just looked so yummy and what a great cause!), and hopefully a pink kitten hat from DoingItHerself for Lily (she was sold out :-( ).
