Liliputians has gotten some nice press of late and we’re reveling in the buzz. The Staten Island Advance (a daily newspaper in the borough of Staten Island with a circulation of approximately 75,000) had a feature in their North Shore edition highlighting our children’s boutique clothing online-business. A picture of yours truly accompanied the article as well as an image of the liliputians anime skirt outfit graced the cover of the paper.

Liliputians has been shown some love this June by two fabulous web sites. Both focused on liliputians birthday outfits, which is fitting considering that June seems to be a very popular birthday month.

The Mama Log is the brain child of mother and writer Tracey French. Always on the look out for unique, handmade goodies from WAHM companies and mamasigners, Tracey was particularly smitten with our birthday outfits so her little girl celebrated her first birthday this month in a liliputians birthday outfit. We hope it was a BIG celebration!

Peekaboo Picks is an online magazine touting itself as finding fabulous finds for hip moms. Started in early 2007 by a mother and writer, Megan Thomas, the magazine is always discovering cool goods for the kiddies. They discovered liliputians birthday outfits and birthday shirts didn’t they?!?

This past week, I had the pleasure of receiving some fabulous photos for the liliputians happy little people gallery. This is truly one of the highlights of my job; the rare occasions that I get to see liliputians custom designs on their intended. So imagine how excited I am to be adding FIVE new photos to the liliputians web site!

We have a birthday girl celebrating her 5th birthday in a hot pink birthday outfit. And another beautiful birthday girl glamming it up in her cupcake dress on her 7th birthday. Then there is the birthday boy celebrating his 1st big day (sock monkeys anyone?) and the regal birthday boy celebrating his 2nd birthday in his number shirt. And last but not least is the brother sister group shot of “O,” “M,” “K,” and little “C” in their custom initial shirts. Fantastic!

I received an email that my Indie Designer Interview (that I had completed some time ago for blogger/writer/designer Mallory Whitfield) was posted on the Styledash web site today. I am really thrilled to be included on this site and in this ongoing series. I too find it so interesting to see what makes other creative types tick.

The Best 4th Birthday Ever!

Monday was Lily’s birthday. She is now 4 years old and according to her is all grown up and can do everything herself. The birthday party over the weekend was as perfect as was her special day. She chose the party venue (an indoor carnival, theme park type place), the flavors of the cupcakes she took to school yesterday (strawberry with chocolate frosting and chocolate with strawberry frosting - both with lots of sprinkles) and even helped design her 2 special new birthday outfits by helping choose the fabrics, trims and styles.

To her birthday party, Lily wore her special liliputians birthday outfit, Cupcake Dots & Ice Cream Ruffles (she dictated the pink and brown color combo and requested ruffles), a pair of matching birthday barrettes (something no birthday girl should be without), her new necklace (just like mamas) and a BIG smile. Lily had the time of her life (as did her daddy and I watching her). There were bumper cars, a ball pit, a roller coaster and other kiddie rides, an arcade with generous tickets being spit from the games, and 12 of her classmates and friends from school and dance class. She’s right . . . it was the best day ever!

Lily wore another special new outfit, Birthday Cakes & Princess Stripes, to school on her birthday on Monday. In keeping with the princess theme, she even had a special Pink Cupcake Crown (made exclusively for liliputians by Cakies). She had liked the pants set from the princessy fabric and requested a skirt made from it. I was glad to accommodate as well as accompany the birthday girl to class with my trusty cupcake carrier filled to the brim with freshly baked treats. My only regret is having baked too many cupcakes so many were left over at home to taunt me and test my willpower!

Birthday Dress of Sweet Petit Four Cakes & Polka Dots

Another sweet birthday dress has been cooked up in the liliputians kitchen! This decadent dress is made of two fun fabrics; a pastel print of petite fours and light blue and white polka dots. Woven heirloom ribbon at the ruffled neckline and sleeves and the empire waist make it extra special. Oh and did I mention how the bottom of the dress is a true full circle skirt? It makes for the ultimate twirl for your little girly-girl birthday girl. Our twirl tester checked it out and gave it two thumbs up. And don’t forget the coordinating skirt set perfect for little or big sister.

We LOVE birthdays here at liliputians, although this statement should be pretty obvious with our line of birthday outfits for girls & boys, birthday dresses, girls & boys birthday shirts, birthday barrettes, birthday invitations (yes, we now carry Monkey Tails most amazing birthday invitations and thank you cards made to match some popular liliputians designs) and even birthday jewelry and birthday party favors and gifts (like the fun play food cupcakes & other goodies by Child’s Play Crochet and cupcake purses by Patti Burgess).

But I digress, what we LOVE the most here at liliputians is happy birthday boys and girls in their special liliputians designs. Our week was brightened by a 3-year old birthday girl who looked so cute on her big day. We hope it was a VERY happy occasion!
