Arrrr! It’s a Pirate Birthday . . . For Girls!

Well I thought I would blog about Lily’s birthday since birthdays are on my mind since today is mine. I’m not telling my age, but Lily turned 6 this year and requested a Pirate themed birthday party.
A special new liliputians birthday outfit was made just for her, the Pirate Birthday in Hot Pink and Black Skirt Outfit, which consisted of a cute Jolly Roger skull print ruffled twirl skirt complete with pirate ribbon trim, a matching hot pink birthday shirt with black lettuce edge ruffles and applique of cross bones with a bone font number, matching Jolly Roger Pirate hair clips, and to top it all off a hot pink ruffled pirate hat for the girly swashbuckler!
We found some other great pirate goodies for the party that are now in the liliputians birthday boutique. Check out this festive keepsake reusable felt pirate banner for fabulous party decorations. And this cute little felt pirate treasure chest bag for yer mateys to keep their booty!
As for the pirate party festivities, we have some great tips! We had pin the eyepatch on the pirate girl, limbo (because no party is complete with this classic party game that the kids just loved!), a skull pinata complete with a pink bow and filled to the brim with chocolate gold coins, candy jewel bracelets and necklaces, and other sweets, pirate skull bead necklace making, pirate temporary tattoos, and then the kiddos had to “walk the plank” to get their goodie bags at the end. Food was overflowing, big sandwiches on home made bread for the adults, delivered pizza for the kids, fresh fruit on sword skewers, fresh salsa, guacamole and junk food like Doritoes and strawberry soda which are not normally allowed. The cake chef cake was amazing . . . truly death by chocolate with chocolate cake, chocolate mousse filling and chocolate fudge icing. Yummmm!
